MOOD U: HELPING AUSTRALIAN WILDLIFE

The continent of Australia is currently being ravaged by bushfires that have now broken records beyond anything the world has seen and it is only the beginning of bushfire season.

• 12.5 million acres of land burned (almost 3x the state of New Jersey!)

• an estimated 800+ million animals dead

• 26+ people dead and more missing

• 1000s of homes gone

Mood Fabrics are helping the Australian wildlife by creating pouches in wool and cotton fabrics that will be used to nurse young joeys back to health.

Please help us to help the Australian wildlife. Come to Mood Fabrics this Saturday 1/11 anytime between 11a-4p where we will provide you with the patterns, fabrics, tools and machinery to make these pouches currently required by all of the wildlife protection services in Australia.

• A fun hour or so of creativity making joey pouches that will aid in the healing of Australian wildlife affected by the ravaging fires currently burning across the continent

• All fabrics, equipment, instructions and machinery will be supplied

FAQs

What is the age requirement for this event?
This is an all-inclusive event for adults and children (we suggest ages 8+). If your younger ones want to join we suggest they are accompanied and assisted by a parent or guardian.

How do I register to help?

Registration is FREE! You can register tickets here online, or when you arrive in-store. Proceed to the Mood U School on arrival and a member of the Mood U Team will register you on our in-store app**. No registration assistance will be available at the front counter in-store.

You must arrive anytime between 11am and 4pm to register at the door. The event may be full to capacity and we can not guarantee immediate entry for walk-ins if that is the case but hopefully some space will free up and you can join in without too long a wait.

Can I register on behalf of friends?

YES! Absolutely - you will be required to enter each persons name individually and tick the waiver form on their behalf (You may want to check with them first if you're not sure if that is OK!!) A link to our waiver will also be emailed out and must be completed by all adults and for minors a parent/guardian must complete before entering the event

Do I need to bring anything to this event?

Nope! Everything is provided for FREE!!

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Mood Fabrics and Mood U are conveniently located close to many subway stations, all within a 5-10min walk.

7 at Hudson Yards/34th St

Street parking in Midtown Manhattan is not recommended. There are multiple parking stations nearby should you wish to drive.

Do I have to bring my own sewing machine?

No, we have sewing machines that Mood U Team Members can assist you with, however we do recommend having some machine experience should you wish to sew. If you can not operate a machine there are PLENTY of tasks you can help with!!
